The City Council of Marikina has passed an ordinance granting amnesty to delinquent business taxpayers of the city.
Ordinance No. 66, Series of 2010 provides 100-percent relief on interests and penalties to all delinquent local businesses that have not paid their taxes as of the passage of the ordinance.
To avail of the tax relief, delinquencies must be paid in full within the prescribed amnesty period, May 25-Sept. 30, 2010.
“Our business investors need to quickly overcome the financial difficulties they suffered in the aftermath of Tropical Storm ‘Ondoy.’ This tax relief is designed to help them start afresh,” said Vice Mayor Marion Andres, author of the ordinance.
Meanwhile, 12 private financial companies are granting micro-finance assistance to all qualified small and medium enterprises in Marikina. Interested parties may call the Marikina Cultural, Tourism, Trade, and Investment Promotions Office at tel. no. 646-3787 for details. |
